R&D
The SIMCO Technologies team constantly pursues research and development activities.
Over the years, the company has partnered with universities, the military, governments, and private sector businesses
to gain extensive knowledge on the factors influencing the long-term performance of concrete under varied conditions.
In addition, SIMCO Technologies’ scientists and engineers have published numerous papers and articles in
peer-reviewed journals.
Research and development plays a vital role in our business.
Many of the company’s unique services, such as its STADIUM® software, began as research projects. With new developments in sustainable and eco-friendly concrete use, SIMCO Technologies is hard at work performing the
research and development that will allow clients to produce safer, longer-lasting, and more environmentally sound
concrete structures.
Certain notable partnerships and R&D developments in which SIMCO is involved include SUMMA and SUMMA2
(which developed STADIUM®), Cementitious Barriers Partnership (CBP, www.cementbarriers.org), SOS (developing sustainable construction decision-aiding software, http://www.ecosmartconcrete.com/SOS), and the European project TRANSCEND dedicated to moisture
transport in concrete.
Publications/References
Here is a selection of papers which have been published regarding the company’s STADIUM® software.
Some papers focus on the model itself while others describe simulations on real structures.
