Dr. Jacques Marchand is an internationally recognized expert in durability modeling, cement chemistry, and degradation mechanism analysis. Dr. Marchand co-founded SIMCO Technologies Inc. in 1997. Since 1993, Dr. Marchand has been a tenured Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering at the Université Laval. He was also the Director and Senior Researcher at the Centre de recherche sur les infrastructures de béton (CRIB – Research Centre on Concrete Infrastructures), which brings together more than 200 researchers, research professionals, and graduate students from seven Quebec universities.
Dr. Marchand is currently the chairholder of the Canada Research Chair on Predicting Useful Life of Concrete Infrastructures and of the NSERC Industrial Chair on Durable Repair and Optimized Maintenance of Concrete Infrastructures. He is the author or coauthor of over 160 peer-reviewed scientific publications and is regularly invited by research groups, universities, companies, and industrial groups around the world to present his research or act as a consultant.

Elisabeth Reid co-founded SIMCO Technologies Inc. in 1997. She was also, from 1994 to the merger with SIMCO Technologies in 2009, a partner and the General Manager of Service d’Expertise en Matériaux (S.E.M.) Inc. As Executive Vice President of SIMCO Technologies, she also heads the Sales & Marketing department. Ms. Reid drives strategic and high-potential growth initiatives, identifies and evaluates business opportunities and new markets for SIMCO Technologies’ services and solutions while managing and building long-term strategic relationships with partners across various industries. She manages new business, marketing, and advertising efforts as well as proposals, research, and financial evaluations.
Since 2010, she has led the commercialization efforts for STADIUM®, SIMCO Technologies’ state-of-the-art service life prediction software for the optimal management of concrete infrastructure. STADIUM® is currently the only service life prediction software recognized and specified by the US Navy for the design and performance evaluation of new marine concrete infrastructure.
