Quebec City, Canada – October 18th 2017 – SIMCO Technologies, a leader in concrete infrastructure durability, is pleased to announce the appointment of Eduardo Barrera to the role of Business Development Engineer. His primary responsibilities will be to expand SIMCO’s unique concrete durability design solutions and services in SIMCO’s industrial markets as well as work on promoting our solutions in the new construction market within the different market sectors.
Mr. Barrera holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Industrial University of Santander in Colombia and a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Laval University in Quebec. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of the Province of Quebec (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec) and a member of the ACI (American Concrete Institute), Quebec and Eastern Ontario Chapter. Mr. Barrera has over 12 years of experience in the execution of various types of infrastructure projects in Colombia and 5 years of experience as a project engineer/project manager for SIMCO. Over the years, he has developed an expertise in the inspection and evaluation of damaged concrete structures. He has worked on numerous projects that include concrete durability, forensic analyses, evaluation of the premature deterioration of concrete structures and the elaboration of cost-effective repair and rehabilitation strategies. Since joining SIMCO, Mr. Barrera has also developed a significant experience in service-life analyses with the use of SIMCO’s STADIUM® service-life modeling software.
